Chad Smith is a Senior Counsel of the firm. He assists his clients with their Commercial Leases and Purchase and Sale Agreements, specializing in representing both Landlords and Tenants in procuring and negotiating office, retail, and industrial space and Buyers and Sellers of all kinds of Real Estate, including Ranches, but also assisting in all other areas of Real Estate. He represents national retail tenants and office tenants in Texas and across the nation with transactions relating to their retail and office portfolios.
Before joining Bartko, Chad worked for large law firms in Texas specializing in Commercial Real Estate for the last 20+ years. Chad has also spent time as a commercial real estate Broker specializing in representing office Landlords but also representing Tenants searching for space and Buyers and Sellers in their pursuits.

Chad has extensive experience negotiating Commercial Retail, Industrial, and Office Leases on both sides of the transaction, along with representing Buyers and Sellers of Office Buildings, Retail Centers, Multi-Family Housing, Ranches, Individual Residences, Homebuilding and other types of Businesses, and even Golf Resorts. Chad’s experience as a Broker allows him to bring a unique perspective to lawyering with a grasp of all sides of the transaction. Chad has also negotiated all of the ancillary documentation to commercial real estate transactions such as Loan Documents, Title and Survey Reviews, Construction Agreements, Easements, CC&R’s, etc.
