Elizabeth “Lisa” Ferguson is an associate in the Labor & Employment Practice Group. Her practice focuses on defending employers in wage-and-hour class action and representative claims in claims brought before the court and administrative agencies. She has extensive experience in remediating wage-and-hour compliance issues through the revision of employment policies and practices and advising employers on compliance requirements. In addition to her wage-and-hour practice, Lisa also defends employers against sexual harassment claims, discrimination, disability, and retaliation claims. She has a broad range of experience in litigating, mediating, and providing employers with advice and counsel.
Prior to joining the firm, Lisa represented insurers in complex coverage disputes at both the state and federal court level. As coverage counsel, Lisa handled a wide range of cases, including construction defect, product liability, habitability, and property. Lisa achieved favorable results on behalf of her clients in contentious coverage matters.
In law school, Lisa was a member of the Hastings Law Journal and received Witkin and CALI Awards in Remedies and the CALI Award in Bankruptcy. Lisa spent her summers volunteering at Public Defender’s Offices in the Bay Area to assist indigent clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges.
