Kelly Coleman is Senior Counsel to the firm and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Group. Kelly represents and advises employers in all aspects of California and federal employment law, in both litigation and advisory capacities.

Kelly has defended a wide variety of businesses and their principals in disputes alleging harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and violation of wage and hour laws. She also advises employers with respect to all aspects of the employment relationship, from company policies and employment agreements to for-cause terminations, reductions in force and severance agreements.

Prior to concentrating her practice in the labor and employment arena, Kelly spent many years practicing exclusively in the music industry, where she represented and advised high-profile talent and music entrepreneurs in all manner of industry activity, including recording, publishing and merchandise deals, endorsements and sponsorships, personal appearances, management relationships, and rights clearance. She also served as tour legal counsel for multiple touring festivals, negotiating the full spectrum of requisite artist, venue, vendor, and transportation contracts.

Kelly’s prior practice also included extensive experience litigating cases in a wide variety of commercial settings, including entertainment, real estate, and construction, and involving legal issues ranging from copyright, right of publicity and breach of contract, to partnership dissolution, construction defects and developer liability.
