Chuck Miller and Griff Towle, both litigators, have again been listed in the Franchise edition of Who’s Who Legal, an international publication listing the foremost legal practitioners in various areas of business law.

On October 1, 2018 and again on June 10, 2019, articles by Rob Bunzel containing lessons for trial lawyers from great books in the Edlund library appeared in the Daily Journal. Mel Belli represented Jack Ruby on trial for the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald in 1964 in Dallas. Belli angered Dallas and tried to hit a home run with an insanity defense. Ruby was convicted and sentenced to death. The current article is a review of the 1965 book The Trial of Jack Ruby by law professors John Kaplan and Jon Walz about how the trial went so wrong for the defense. January 14, 2019 - Former Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP attorney Joseph Saveri's firm doesn't have to pay another plaintiffs firm a $1.2 million referral fee out of his score from settlements in titanium dioxide price-fixing litigation, the Fourth Circuit ruled Monday, finding he'd never agreed to shell out the sum. On the evening of November 28, 2018, a jury in Santa Clara Superior Court returned a verdict in favor of ASML on all of its five claims against XTAL, awarding $223 million on the trade secrets claim, $135 million for inducing former employees to breach their contracts with ASML, $169 million for aiding and abetting former employees to breach their duty of loyalty to ASML, and $1.2 million in forensic investigation costs for breach of California’s computer fraud statute (Penal Code Section 502). Ben Riley’s article on How Not To Regret Your Direct: Exploring The Human Story, originally published in the ABA Litigation Magazine in 2015, was recently selected as a Best of ABA Sections: Litigation.
